MC Systems and Global Partners Support Ongoing Recovery Efforts Across Jamaica’s Financial Sector

To support Jamaica’s recovery following Hurricane Melissa, MC Systems, in partnership with global technology leaders Verifone and Diebold Nixdorf, facilitated more than JM $47 million in aid to recover and strengthen both the payments and cash-access infrastructure across the country’s financial ecosystem.
In the weeks after Hurricane Melissa, disruptions to cash availability and financial transaction services highlighted the importance of resilient payment and banking systems. MC Systems’ response focused on keeping money moving, supporting financial institutions, merchants, and the communities most affected during the recovery period.
Dwayne Russell, Managing Director of MC Systems, noted that “ensuring continued access to payments and cash is essential for our recovery.” He also explained that “our focus has been on supporting financial institutions as they stabilise operations, while also enabling the functioning of broader systems that help communities and businesses recover.”
MC Systems worked closely with its partners and affected financial institutions to prioritise deployment and minimise disruption as recovery efforts progressed.
As the nation enters the rebuilding phase, MC Systems continues to work with partners to strengthen the resilience of Jamaica’s financial infrastructure and support long-term economic stability.
